Professional Services: DANNY ROBINSON
CHIEF CREATIVE OFFICER, THE MARTIN AGENCY, RICHMOND
A creative officer who came from the client relations side of the business, Robinson was named Ad Age’s chief creative officer of the year in April, noting The Martin Agency increased output after Robinson took charge of the advertising firm’s creative department in 2020. He is Martin’s first Black chief creative officer and has restructured his department and diversified its workforce.
Prior to joining Martin in 2004, Robinson co-founded the New York ad agency Vigilante and orchestrated Oprah Winfrey’s famous Pontiac G6 car giveaway show. Martin’s clients include Geico, Old Navy and UPS.
Robinson says it can be hard to admit that an idea isn’t working after putting a lot of time into it, but sometimes the best thing to do is have the courage to let go and restart
