Nonprofits/Philanthropy: TED HART
PRESIDENT AND CEO, CHARITIES AID FOUNDATION OF AMERICA (CAF AMERICA), ALEXANDRIA
For 30 years, Charities Aid Foundation of America has enabled cross-border giving by Americans to validated charities and charitable projects worldwide.
Hart has led the organization for the last decade. His passion for the nonprofit’s work stems from “the privilege of helping our donor clients bring their dreams and prayers for a better world to reality, one grant at a time,” he says.
Since 1992, CAF America has granted more than $3.8 billion to more than 380,000 charities in over 135 countries. With 97 employees worldwide, CAF ranked 26 out of 50 in The NonProfit Times’ 2020 Best Nonprofits to Work For list. The nonprofit reported over $635 million in fiscal year 2021 revenue.
Hart, who has a master’s degree in public administration from SUNY Brockport, is also president and CEO of CAF Canada, CEO of CAF International and a member of the CAF American Donor Fund board of directors. A public speaker and writer, he’s penned several books about fundraising and nonprofits and regularly hosts CAF’s Caring and Funding podcast.
