Ammen joined Universal Fiber Systems in 2000 and has served as its chief financial officer and president of its Universal Fibers Inc. subsidiary. A Clemson University alumnus, he has served as the fiber manufacturer’s CEO since 2009 and is on The Carpet and Rug Institute’s board of directors.
Founded in 1969 in Bristol, Tennessee, Universal Fiber Systems produces synthetic fibers for a variety of applications. Bristol, Virginia-based Universal Fibers Inc. produces dyed, synthetic yarn for the flooring, transportation and industrial fibers industries, while North Carolina-based Premiere Fibers Inc. produces fibers for industrial, military and apparel markets.
The company has manufacturing facilities in Europe, Thailand and China. Universal Fiber has also been recognized for its sustainable practices.
