Law: MARGARET HARDY
SHAREHOLDER AND PRESIDENT, SANDS ANDERSON PC, FREDERICKSBURG
Hardy is an artist, farmer, registered nurse and accomplished attorney who represents health care clients, local governments and various businesses. She’s also Sands Anderson’s first woman president, the managing shareholder for its Fredericksburg office, leader of its health care group and a member of the firm’s government, business and litigation groups.
Her 15 years of experience as a nurse gives her a unique perspective when guiding health workers through malpractice actions and investigations. She has also helped local governments collect millions of dollars in delinquent real estate taxes.
Hardy is a past president of the Virginia Women Attorneys’ Association and serves as legal counsel for the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, a board member for the United Methodist Family Services and a trustee for Mary Washington Healthcare.
A graduate of the Johnston-Willis Hospital School of Nursing and the University of Richmond, Hardy earned an MBA from Old Dominion University and a law degree from William & Mary.
In her spare time, she raises Angora goats and uses their wool to make yarn for her artwork.
