Law: JONATHAN P. HARMON
CHAIRMAN, McGUIREWOODS LLP, RICHMOND
Harmon is a highly sought-after and nationally recognized trial lawyer who brings in millions of dollars representing Fortune 500 companies in bet-the-company litigation actions.
Harmon became the leader of Virginia’s oldest and largest law firm in 2017. Before that, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point graduate and Gulf War veteran headed the firm’s business and securities litigation department. The New York native earned his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
While leading the firm and juggling a heavy caseload, he finds time to volunteer and do prison ministry work, which he says is a passion. He has been a longtime volunteer at the Petersburg Federal Corrections Facility. He also serves on the Pro Bono Institute board and volunteers as a children’s worker at Faith Landmarks Ministries.
His wife, Rhonda, who had worked as a lawyer for Mezzullo & McCandlish, died of leukemia in January.
