JK Moving Services has hired Carrie Haas as its director of talent development, the Sterling-based moving company announced Monday.

Haas will lead training and talent development for JK Moving and its sister company, CapRelo, an employee relocation and assignment management firm. She will develop, coordinate and facilitate talent and leadership development initiatives and build competency models, succession planning and talent review tools and processes.

“We welcome Carrie to the JK family,” Andrea Bunch, senior vice president of human resources for JK Moving and CapRelo, said in a statement. “Our customer-focused culture of excellence starts with a well-trained and engaged team of professionals. With her comprehensive background and talent development expertise, Carrie will evolve our programs.”

Haas was most recently senior director human resources business partner for Colorado-based Vail Resorts, supporting the food and beverage operations. She has owned an HR consulting business and previously was senior human resources business partner for Phoenix-based Banner Health, which operates 30 hospitals in six states. Before that, she was director of corporate human resources for life sciences and diagnostics conglomerate Danaher, and prior to that, Haas served as Target’s group manager for HR organizational effectiveness.

Haas holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Mexico and an MBA from the University of Minnesota.

The United States’ largest independently owned moving company, JK Moving provides local, long distance and global relocation services to commercial, residential and government clients and was ranked best moving company for 2023 by U.S. News & World Report.

Launched in 1997, CapRelo provides global relocation and assignment management and handles 10,000 assignments a year.
