Herndon tech contractor names growth officer, new verticals leaders

Valiant Integrated Services LLC hired John Hart, Kent Smith and Hector Alvarez

Published October 5, 2021 by Katherine Schulte

Valiant announced three appointments on Monday.

Herndon-based tech contractor Valiant Integrated Services LLC appointed three executives who began on Oct. 1: John Hart as chief growth officer, Kent Smith as general manager and senior vice president of the mission support vertical and Hector Alvarez as general manager and senior vice president of the training and readiness vertical.

“John, Kent and Hector all have extensive experience and excellent reputations in the government solutions space,” Valiant CEO Dan Corbett said in a statement. “Adding them to the Valiant leadership team positions us well to grow the company by expanding on our innovative, cost-effective approach in support of our customers around the world.”

Hart will focus on sustaining and continuing organic growth. He was most recently the vice president of business development and capture for Peraton’s defense business.

Valiant realigned into two verticals, mission support and training and readiness.

Smith will lead the mission support vertical. He helped lead Valiant’s operations in the base operations support, health care, construction and other related markets. Smith has held senior leadership roles at Fluor Corp. and Del-Jen Inc.

Alvarez will lead the company’s training and readiness vertical. He was previously the vice president and general manager of Lockheed Martin Corp.’s U.S. Special Operations Command’s global sustainment support services business. He has held positions at Lockheed Martin, Pacific Architects and Engineers Inc. (PAE), Hughes Aircraft Co. and General Electric Co.

Valiant employs approximately 5,000 people across more than 120 project sites and provides support services to the U.S. government, its allied partners and international organizations. The company provides services including logistics and sustainment; training, simulation and readiness; mission and contingency operations; engineering and analysis as well as maintenance and management for aerospace, defense, national security and intelligence government customers.
