A Norfolk-born Rhodes scholar with degrees from U.Va. and Oxford, Sabato is the founder and director of the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics and a recipient of U.Va.’s highest faculty honor, the Thomas Jefferson Award.
He has been a professor of political science at the university since 1978.
Sabato’s Crystal Ball, an online political newsletter and election handicapper that predicts outcomes in statewide and national races, maintains a strong following thanks to political junkies and interested voters.
