Five Virginians have been named to Forbes’ latest list of the world’s billionaires.

The Virginia residents include Jacqueline Mars, who lives in The Plains; William Conway Jr., McLean; Daniel D’Aniello, McLean; Winnie Marquart-Johnson, Virginia Beach; and Steve Case, McLean.

Forbes estimates Mars’ net worth at $17 billion, ranking 36th on the world list of billionaires and 17th in the United States. Mars and her brothers, John and Forrest Jr., are the third generation of their family to own Mars Inc. The McLean-based candy company had a estimated revenue of $33 billion last year. The company was founded in 1911 by the siblings grandfather, Frank Mars.

Conway and D’Aniello are co-founders of the private equity firm The Carlyle Group. Forbes puts the net worth of each man at $3 billion, tied for 458th in the world and 150th in the U.S. Conway is co-CEO of the firm, while D’Aniello is chairman.

Marquart-Johnson is a member of the Johnson family that owns SC Johnson, the Racine, Wisc.-based household products company. Forbes estimated her net worth at $2.8 billion. Marquart-Johnson is president of the Johnson Family Foundation.  She ranks 503rd among world billionaires and is 168th in the U.S.
