Stanchina became mid-Atlantic CEO for professional services and insurance firm Marsh McLennan Agency in 2011. Named a top workplace by the Richmond Times-Dispatch for the past four years, the agency provides business insurance, employee health insurance and benefits, retirement and private client insurance products. Stanchina was previously also president of the branch. In January, the mid-Atlantic division increased its number of employees, following MMA’s acquisition of Maryland-based HMS Insurance Associates.

An alumnus of Muskingum College (now Muskingum University), Stanchina is director emeritus of the Anna Julia Cooper School and vice president of Greater Richmond SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now). He is also a former board chairman for The Valentine museum.
