Federal Contractors/Technology: STEPHEN TRUNDLE
PRESIDENT AND CEO, ALARM.COM, TYSONS
Named to Fortune magazine’s 2021 list of the top 100 Fastest Growing Companies for the second year, Alarm.com has grown from a company with a handful of employees in 2003 to having 700 Virginia-based employees and 8.4 million security service subscribers. In 2021 alone, the company brought on more than 350 new hires across all Alarm.com companies.
In February, Alarm.com and Gov. Glenn Youngkin announced an expansion expected to create 180 jobs in video analytics, facial recognition and mobile services at its Tysons headquarters. The company provides network operations and cloud-based services for home and business security companies like ADT.
Trundle has served as the Tysons-based security company’s leader since May 2003. Previously, he held positions at MicroStrategy Inc. and was chief technology officer when MicroStrategy launched Alarm.com in 2000 with the goal of creating a security system that would allow clients to monitor their properties via their phones. MicroStrategy sold the spinoff company to a group of investors in 2009. Alarm.com went public in 2015.
