Heneghan’s early career as an English teacher instructing students to use desktop publishing software during the late 1990s took a dramatic shift. In the past two decades, he has served as vice president of CGI Federal and led corporate development at Stanley Associates before joining ECS in 2017. In 2021, he became chief operating officer of ECS, the federal consulting subsidiary of Glen Allen-based Fortune 1000 firm ASGN Inc., and in January became its president.
ECS has more than 3,500 employees and reported more than $1.1 billion in 2021 revenue. It’s been named an Amazon Web Services Managed Services Provider for eight years and in May partnered with two other firms to donate an enterprise security platform, totaling $4 million, to an educational lab at the U.S. Naval Academy.
Heneghan earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland. Outside of work, he is a member of the International Wine and Food Society and holds certifications from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust.
