With more than 2,200 employees around the globe — including more than 1,300 in Virginia — Carahsoft ranked No. 44 on Forbes’ list of the nation’s largest private companies in 2021. The company reported more than $10 billion in revenue last year.
Abod founded Carahsoft in 2004. He is an eight-time Wash100 recipient, including an award in 2022. Carahsoft is an IT solutions provider and holds contracts through NASA, the Army and the federal General Services Administration to provide solutions to more than 3,000 prime contractors, value-added resellers, system integrators and other channel partners. The company also serves state and local governments and the Canadian government, as well as education and health care clients.
The company donated more than $590,000 to 45 charities in 2021. It gave another $205,000 through Carahsoft’s All-Hands Giving program, through which employees can designate a charity to receive $100 from the company. The program benefited a total of 368 charities in 2021.
Abod has a degree in computer science from the University of Maryland. He previously worked for DLT Solutions and Falcon Systems, and serves on the executive committee of the Government Business Executive Forum.
