Eastman Chemical Co. adding 25 jobs in Henry County
Tennessee-based Eastman Chemical Company is expanding its manufacturing facility in Henry County. As part of the expansion, Eastman is investing $40 million over three years and creating 25 new jobs.
The company’s facility in Henry County manufactures window and performance-coated film. The operation currently employs 500, according to a statement by Jim Cheng, Virginia’s secretary of commerce and trade.
Eastman is a specialty chemical company that produces a broad range of products found in items people use every day. The company serves customers in about 100 countries and had 2012 pro forma revenues of approximately $9 billion.
Gov. Bob McDonnell approved a $75,000 grant from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund for the project. The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission also approved $230,000 in Tobacco Region Opportunity Funds.
