What are the biggest concerns of your corporate clients?  While there are many, several seem prominent in today’s environment. First and foremost is maintaining revenue growth through winning new contracts and recompetes and gaining new customers, especially in the face of an uncertain political climate. Next is attracting and retaining top talent, most notably qualified technical professionals, as well as those who possess necessary security clearances. Finally, maintaining strong compliance with the many laws and regulations affecting businesses is a constant concern.

How have federal tax cuts affected their operations?  For many clients, the tax cuts have allowed companies to invest more in operations, growth and in retaining personnel. There is concern about how long the cuts will last given the political landscape. I also have many clients that have not seen any appreciable effects because of their unique circumstances, like having significant foreign operations, or were already not paying any or significant federal taxes because of their NOL (net operating loss) positions or because they are a 100% ESOP (employee stock ownership plan)  S corporations.
