Charity to award grants to Loudoun County nonprofits

Published March 13, 2013 by Robert Powell, III

The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia has set up a fund to support nonprofit organizations in Loudoun County.

The Loudoun Impact Fund, established in September, has announced its first grant cycle is accepting applications from nonprofits, schools and faith-based organizations serving the rapidly growing county.

In its first year, the fund will award grants of $2,000 to $25,000 to programs addressing the wellbeing of children and youth, specifically in the areas of mental health and substance abuse.

“Loudoun County has its own set of critical needs,” John Wolff of Capital Fiduciary Advisors LLC, a board member at the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia and a member of the Loudoun Impact Fund, said in a statement. “We are very pleased to engage in an initiative that is led by Loudoun citizens and serves citizens in such a remarkable community.”

The deadline for applications is April 10. To apply or find further information, organizations can visit www.cfnova.org/loudoun.

Founding corporate members of the Loudoun Impact Fund include:

–      Belfort Furniture, represented by Michael Huber
–      Capital Fiduciary Advisors, represented by John Wolff
–      The Claude Moore Charitable Foundation, represented by Lynn Tadlock
–      Fortessa Tableware Solutions, represented by Scott Hamberger
