Atlantic Constructors adds 30,000 square feet in Chesterfield County

Published April 3, 2017 by Paula C. Squires

Atlantic Constructors Inc. (ACI), a commercial and industrial contractor with offices in the Richmond area, Roanoke and Hampton Roads, is undergoing a $3 million expansion to enlarge its Chesterfield County fabrication facility from 100,000 to 130,000 square feet.

ACI said the project, at 1401 Battery Brooke Parkway in the Chesterfield County’s Bermuda District, is scheduled for completion in July. It will allow the company to be more competitive with prefabrication and modular construction capabilities.

With the expansion, ACI is adding increased overhead crane capacity, to meet growing customer demand for “off-job site” assemblies and prefabrication.

ACI fabricates ductwork, piping, plumbing and steelwork to a customer’s specifications while work at the customer’s construction site is underway. The finished ACI products are then delivered to the job site in a ready-to-install state.

“A 30 percent increase in size allows us to have all of our fabrication services under one roof, which will result in greater efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness for our customers,” Terrance Kerner, president of ACI said in a statement.  “… This expansion is a big step toward achieving our strategic goal to be positioned as the mid-Atlantic region’s contractor of choice.”
