A message to corporate meeting planners
Welcome to the 2016 edition of the Virginia Business Meeting & Conference Planner. This annual publication is designed to showcase prime meeting locations in the commonwealth.
If you are traveling within Virginia, the good news is that everything you need for an excellent meeting can be found near home. If you are considering meetings in Virginia from elsewhere, please come and experience firsthand why Virginia is rated highly for both its business-friendly environment and its recreational amenities. Starting on page 39 you’ll find some of the unique meeting locations in the commonwealth, ranging from mountain to beach settings. Page 36 highlights conference venues in the state, including a breakdown of conference space in square feet, banquet capacity and guest rooms.
While location is key for an ideal meeting, so are the meeting planners who organize the events. That’s why we have partnered with the Virginia Society of Association Executives to name the first 2016 Virginia Business Meeting Planner of the Year. This year’s winner is David Hinnant, manager of conference and event planning for Huntington Ingalls Industries in Newport News. Hinnant, profiled here, will be honored at VSAE’s 2016 Educational Symposium & Expo Oct. 6 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center in Richmond.
