When a film production company comes to town, it needs a place to house its stuff.

Stalwart Films LLC has leased a big chunk of space, 181,951 square feet at 4300 Carolina Ave. in Henrico County, in a deal related to the filming of a new AMC television network project in Richmond.

The governor’s office has announced that AMC will film a new original series in Richmond about colonial-era spies, starting this fall.  AMC has ordered a 10-episode season of the show, whose working title is “Turn,” which will premiere in 2014. The project is expected to have an economic impact of $45 million per season.

Stalwart Films, based out of Manchester, England, is going into space owned by landlord Richmond International Raceway Inc. It will construct sets in the building in addition to filming on location throughout Central Virginia. Chip Louthan and David Williams of Colliers International in Richmond represented Richmond International Raceway in the transaction.
