The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation has begun looking for a successor to its longtime president and CEO, Colin Campbell.

The foundation has set up a search committee and hired a headhunting firm.

Campbell will not retire until a successor is named.

The search committee will be led by Thomas F. Farrell II, chairman of the Colonial Williamsburg Board of Trustees, who is chairman, president and chief executive of Richmond-based Dominion Resources.

Other members of the committee include trustees Pamela Flaherty of New York, N.Y.; Steven Miller of Houston; Cynthia Milligan of Lincoln, Neb.; Andrea Mitchell of Washington, D.C.; Thomas Norment of Williamsburg; Barbara Oberg of Princeton, N.J.; and Henry Wolf of Virginia Beach.

The committee has retained the recruiting firm Storbeck/Pimentel. No deadline has been set for completion of the succession process.

Campbell has led the foundation since August 2000.
