Bringing attention to the Southwest
- December 1, 2008
I have recently enjoyed the October and September issues of your magazine and found particularly the article regarding growth and development in the Blacksburg area in the September issue by Michele Baron Long to be extremely well written and insightful. I have long felt, as a lifetime weekend resident of Southwest Virginia, that this area of the state is given short shrift from any other statewide attention, and publications such as yours help to bring attention to this area and also help foster commerce and development in this area of the state where there is so much to offer.
I particularly enjoyed your October 2008 issue regarding the vineyards and wineries around the state of Virginia; however, again as a longtime resident I did not see anything regarding a particular favorite winery, Château Morrisette. Perhaps you could dispatch Ms. Long to pen an article regarding this outstanding winery located just off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Floyd County. I believe once you sample their libations you will agree with me that this is one of the outstanding wineries within the Commonwealth of Virginia and deserves an honorable mention in your fine publication.
Again, keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing future articles.
