Washington, Hampton Roads cities get close scrutiny

Washington, D.C., and three Hampton Roads cities are among the 50 “Most Watched” in the country, according to Men’s Health magazine.
The magazine ranked 100 cities based on their networks of closed-circuit cameras used for police surveillance and at traffic stops. Men’s Health also gathered information about government wiretaps from the Administrative Officer of U.S. Courts.
Washington ranked number No. 1 on the list, with Virginia Beach at No. 9, Norfolk at No. 25 and Chesapeake at No. 46.
No other Virginia city was ranked.
Besides Washington and Virginia Beach, the 10 “Most Watched” cities were Houston; Denver; Cheyenne, Wyo.; Rochester, N.Y.; Dallas; Austin, Texas; New Orleans and Atlanta.
The 10 “Least Watched” cities were Billings, Mont.; Burlington, Vt.; Sioux Falls, S.D.; Lincoln, Neb.; Fort Wayne, Ind.; Omaha, Neb,; Lexington, Ky.; San Jose, Calif.; Detroit and Manchester, N.H.
