Union, Volvo reach tentative agreement
- March 12, 2008
A tentative agreement has been reached between Volvo Trucks North America and union workers at Volvo’s Dublin plant. The agreement could mean an end to a strike that has closed down the New River Valley plant for more than a month.
The local chapter of the United Auto Workers said in a news release on Tuesday night that the proposed three-year contract would cover the 2,600 members of the union.
Workers have been on strike since Feb. 1 and are expected to review the proposal and vote on it in the next few days.
Details of the agreement have not been disclosed.
