The Fresh Market will open a new store in Richmond on Sept. 19

The Fresh Market Inc. continues to expand inVirginia with a new Richmond store opening set for Sept. 19. The newest location at 10 N. Nansemond St. marks the specialty grocer’s eighth store in Virginia.
“We are excited to open another store in Richmond and to continue expanding our reach in Virginia,” Craig Carlock, the company’s president and CEO, said in a statement.
Doors will open Wednesday, Sept. 19. Festivities include chef demonstrations, food sampling and drawings for The Fresh Market gift cards.
The 23,300 square-foot store will offer a bakery, a meat counter with freshly ground beef, a selection of ready-to-serve entrées, more than 200 imported and domestic cheeses and a produce department with more than 400 items and a large organic selection. It is expected to bring 90 new jobs to the area, most of which are being filled locally.
