- February 17, 2011
Strayer Education Inc. has reported a jump in revenues for the fourth quarter and the full year.
The Arlington-based company said Thursday that fourth-quarter revenues increased 17 percent to $172 million, compared to $147.2 million for the same period a year ago. Revenues for 2010 increased 24 percent to $636.7 million, compared to $512 million in 2009, due to increased enrollment and a 5 percent tuition increase last year. For 2010, diluted earnings per share came in at $9.70, compared to $7.60 in 2009. As of December 31, 2010, the company said it had no debt.
Strayer saw enrollment for its winter term grow by 4 percent to 57,608 students, an increase that came from primarily from out of area online students. However, new student enrollment decreased 20 percent. The company has 12 locations across the state.
