Stihl to cut employee hours
- February 25, 2009
Power tools manufacturer Stihl Inc. will cut hours of some of its employees and use fewer temporary workers, according to The Virginian-Pilot.
The Germany company, whose U.S. headquarters are based in Virginia Beach, says the move will not eliminate any full-time positions. It has not decided which employees will be affected.
A spokeswoman for the company told the Pilot that Stihl has seen a decrease in demand for its tools outside of the country, and the cutbacks were an effort to rebalance inventory. (The Virginian-Pilot)
