Sotera Defense Solutions to acquire Potomac Fusion

McLean-based Sotera Defense Solutions, a technology company serving national security customers, plans to acquire Chantilly-based Potomac Fusion Inc.
Potomac Fusion develops data fusion, data analytics, cyber and visualization solutions for U.S. intelligence community and Department of Defense tactical intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) mission systems.
“At Sotera our strategy is to strengthen, deepen and align our core capabilities to address the rapidly evolving requirements of our national security customers,” John Hillen, Sotera’s president and CEO, said in a statement. “Potomac Fusion’s significant expertise in cloud computing architectures, data fusion and data analytics solutions will bolster the broad range of support we can provide to our customers operating on the front lines of cyber warfare, intelligence, and tactical ISR.”
Potomac Fusion was founded in 2002. It has focused on developing software frameworks for data fusion and analytics for Department of Defense customers.
Potomac Fusion has grown steadily in recent years and now has more than 200 employees. The company is expects to have revenues of $40 million for this year.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Sotera expects the transaction to close this month.
