- December 3, 2008
The Virginian-Pilot is off the market until credit conditions improve.
Landmark Media Enterprises LLC said Tuesday it has taken the Pilot and the newspaper’s affiliated publications off the market until the economy improves, according to The Virginian-Pilot. The company has already pulled its marketing company, Dominion Enterprises, and almost all of its other properties off the market.
The company has said a perspective buyer could not get financing in the current credit crunch.
Landmark has already sold The Weather Channel to NBC Universal and two private-equity firms.
The company still plans to sell all of its assets. (The Virginian-Pilot)
