Reports say Northrop Grumman moving to Washington area

Northrop Grumman Corp., a major Virginia employer, plans to relocate its headquarters from Los Angeles to the Washington, D.C., area, according to published reports.
The Washington Business Journal and The Washington Post reported that the defense contractor will move to the Washington area by summer 2011. The company is considering sites in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.
The company’s divisions and subsidiaries employ more than 30,000 workers in the commonwealth, primarily with Northrop Grumman Information Systems in Reston and Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding in Newport News.
