Prince William Chamber names chief executive

Rob Clapper has been named president and CEO of the newly formed Prince William Chamber of Commerce.
He previously was president of the Greensboro (N.C.) Chamber of Commerce and CEO of the Laurens County (S.C.) Chamber of Commerce.
During his tenure in those posts, Clapper was named the 2010 North Carolina Chamber Executive of the Year and the Laurens group was named National Chamber of the Year by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives in 2007.
Before working in the private sector, Clapper was an Army officer who served in Afghanistan and the Middle East.
The Prince William Chamber was formed in July with the merger of the Prince William and Prince William County-Greater Manassas chambers of commerce.
Clapper will begin work at the Prince William Chamber on Oct. 19.
