Prince William business organizations consider merger
- October 29, 2009
The Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce and the Prince William Regional Chamber of Commerce are mulling a merger.
Representatives from the two business groups have signed a letter of intent to explore ways that they can be combined. A merger would create an organization with nearly 2,000 member businesses.
In a news release announcing the move, the chambers said dozens of members from each organization have met during the past year. The talks led to focus group sessions and the formation of a steering committee and task forces.
“Our chambers have the same mission — to help our members and all Prince William businesses thrive and expand. We can offer more opportunities and focus our resources by merging our organizations,” Molly Grove, the chairman of the Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce, said in a statement.
