PGI expands site, installs equipment in Waynesboro location
- July 13, 2010
Charlotte, N.C.,-based Polymer Group Inc., (PGI) announced that the company has begun construction and installation of its new spunmelt machine at its plant in Waynesboro.
Gov. Bob McDonnell originally announced the plan in March 2010. The project is expected to create 41 jobs at the Waynesboro site and represents an investment of over $65 million.
The new capacity is expected to be available to customers in the second half of 2011.
“This expansion continues to build upon PGI’s ability to employ industry-leading technologies, combined with recent proprietary technological development,” Daniel Guerrero, vice president and general manager of the U.S. region, said in a statement.
