Owens & Minor reported a 1.1 percent increase in revenues for the first quarter, saying sales during the quarter were hampered by lower utilization of health-care services.

The medical supplier reported $1.97 billion in revenue for the quarter, and improved its quarterly profit at $27.8 million, compared with $14 million during the same period last year. However, the first quarter of 2009 results included the sale of assets and losses of $8.4 million from pre-tax charges.
