Wind Energy (North Rihns) Ltd., a subsidiary of Arlington’s AES Corp., secured £35.1 million (equivalent to $52.8 million) from Barclays Commercial Bank for the construction and operation of a 22 megawatt wind farm in Scotland. Located near the village of Portpatrick, the facility would use 11 Vestas turbines to produce power for sale. (Business Wire)

King George Warehouse Associates LLC bought a tract of land in King George County Industrial Park for $900,000. The 10-acre parcel holds an unfinished 75,000-square-foot warehouse built in 2005 by American Glass Industries Inc., which subsequently went out of business. Renovation work on the facility is expected to run between $800,000 and $1 million. (The Free Lance-Star)

LCC International Inc., a wireless phone service provider, announced intentions to deregister its common stock with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The company has fewer than 300 shareholders and believes the cost of compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and other SEC filings is not in the best interest of the company or its stockholders.
