Developers introduced preliminary drawings of the 26-story Norfolk and Westin Conference Center to the Norfolk City Council Wednesday night. The hotel would be the second tallest building in downtown Norfolk. LTD Management Co. is heading up the project. (The Virginian-Pilot)

Developers are renewing a plan to redevelop the historic Hotel John Marshall into 232 luxury apartments and 24,000 square feet of retail space. Dominion Realty Partners Inc., the developer of Vistas on the James, has joined the effort. No timeline on the project has been given. (Richmond Times-Dispatch)

Construction has begun on a “flex-tech” center in Frederick County. The 46,000-square-foot facility could handle office, manufacturing and warehousing space. The development concept allows for a mix of light-industrial companies to work under the same roof.  An environmental engineering firm and an air pollution control equipment company have already claimed space in the center.
