The newly formed Prince William Chamber of Commerce has elected a chairman and is seeking a chief executive officer.
The business organization is the result of a merger between the Prince William Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce. Members of both groups ratified the merger on June 17, and the State Corporation Commission approved the new organization on July 2.
The new chamber’s 40-member board of directors elected Tim Jackson as chairman. He is president of MDA Technologies Group LLC in Woodbridge.
Meanwhile, the chamber is searching for a CEO. During the transitiion period, the presidents of the two former chambers, Debbie Jones and Laurie Wieder, are continuing to serve in management positions.
The combined chamber represents more than 1,800 businesses and community organizations in Prince William.
