Navy Federal Credit Union is expanding its member service operations in Winchester and creating 400 jobs, Gov. Bob McDonnell announced Tuesday.
The company has been in Frederick County for six years and this expansion will make it the area’s largest employers, Richard Shickle, chairman of the Frederick County Board of Supervisors said in a statement.
Gov. McDonnell approved a $250,000 grant from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund to assist Frederick County with the project. Through its Virginia Jobs Investment Program, the Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide funding and services to support the company’s recruitment, training and retraining activities.
Navy Federal Credit Union is the world’s largest credit union. The credit union is headquartered in Fairfax and serves all Department of Defense military and civilian personnel and their families.
