McKesson to open distribution center in Caroline
- August 6, 2010
McKesson Corp. plans to spend $50 million to establish a distribution center for pharmaceuticals and health-care products, creating 150 jobs.
The company has announced plans earlier this year, but Gov. Bob McDonnell’s office confirmed the plans Friday.
Virginia competed against Maryland and Pennsylvania for the project.
“After reviewing a number of excellent options in the region, we’re extremely pleased to have selected Caroline County as home to our newest distribution center,” John Figueroa, president, U.S. Pharmaceutical Distribution of McKesson Corp. said in a statement. “Once complete, this new facility will allow us to more efficiently serve our growing customer needs with the most advanced material handling systems available while providing new employment opportunities in the region.”
