License process center to be built in Danville
- June 12, 2008
Canadian Bank Note Secure Technologies Inc. will build a high-security production facility in Danville, creating 15 to 20 jobs.
The plant will produce driver’s licenses and identification cards for the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
Next year obtaining driver’s licenses will be similar to the U.S. passport process. All DMV-issued identifications will be produced at the Danville facility and sent through the mail to customers.
Virginia residents will still apply for their licenses at DMV locations around the state and receive temporary licenses until they receive their permanent cards in the mail.
CBN Secure Technologies Inc. is a division of Ottawa, Ontario-based Canadian Bank Note Co. Ltd.
