Liberty Tax Service expects an Obama administration official to participate in its “Hispanic Education Summit” on Friday at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.
The Virginia Beach-based tax service said participants in the conference will include Jose Rico, executive director of the White House Initiative on Education Excellence for Hispanics. Also scheduled to attend is Javier Diaz de Leon, executive director of IME (Institute for Mexicans Abroad), in Mexico City.
The summit will explore education issues in the Hispanic community, including handling finances and gaining access to higher education.
A Liberty Tax Service educational outreach program, “Una Familia Sin Fronteras” (A Family without Boundaries), provides free financial and fiscal education seminars and courses to Hispanic communities throughout the U.S. in partnership with more than 400 agencies.
