Is the federal “card-check” bill dead? How would it affect your clients if it passed?
“Likely so — at least in its current form. There is not much appetite on Capitol Hill to continue to pursue the legislation, and there will be even less momentum in the new Congress as a result of the midterm elections. But organized labor continues to advance this, and the possibility is real that the National Labor Relations Board — with its new members — will pursue similar objectives through its rule-making power. Employers will need to continue to monitor these developments.”
