L.F. Jennings completes a 330,000-square-foot office building in Springfield
- December 8, 2011
L.F. Jennings has completed the latest marquee building in the Metro Park Complex in Springfield, one of the largest private office buildings under construction in Virginia this year. Metro Park Building VI is a 330,000-square-foot, 11-story office that is 52 percent leased.
Located at 6361 Walker Lane, the building is close to the Springfield Metro, Fort Belvoir and the Franconia-Springfield Parkway. So far, it has attracted two large defense contractors. Peter Berk, a principal with Avison Young, said Booz Allen Hamilton has signed a lease for 88,000 square feet, and the Tauri Group took 72,000 square feet. “We’ve got some other smaller lease as well,” he said. “It just delivered last week, so we’ve got about 140,000 square feet to go.”
Metro Park VI was designed for LEED Platinum certification, the highest sustainable building certification from Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.
Kling Stubbins served as the architect. The building is owned by Clarion Partners.
It is the seventh office building constructed by L.F.Jennings within the 37-acre, 1.2 million-square-foot Metro Park. Construction began in August 2010.
The new building has a contemporary look with glass canopy entranceways leading into a lobby through revolving glass doors. Amenities include 9-foot ceilings, high-tech wiring and a fitness center for prospective tenants.
