Klett Consulting Group, Inc., a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business, plans to add 20 to 30 full-time employees at its current location in Virginia Beach. The company, which provides government-related technology, systems engineering and consulting services, now employs 12 people. The average salary for new workers, not including benefits, will be $80,000 annually, according to the Virginia Beach Development Authority.

Klett also plans to invest $250,000 in new real estate, including $100,000 in furniture and equipment. Due to the expansion, it’s eligible for a $35,000 economic development investment program grant for employee training and on-site improvements. The city’s development authority voted earlier this week to provide the grant.

Started in 2002 by Mark N. Klett, the company was named the 2010 Virginia Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business of the Year.  “In a short time, the company has not only grown in size, but has also taken a significant leadership position in advocating for expanded veteran’s services and new opportunities for the small business community,” Warren D. Harris, the city’s economic development director, said in a statement.
