Jones Lang LaSalle expands operation in Richmond and Hampton Roads

Citing Virginia’s deep water ports and convenient mid-Atlantic location, Jones Lang LaSalle is expanding operations in the Richmond and Hampton Roads markets. It has hired one of the region’s top producers, Charlie Polk, as its Managing Director. Polk was formerly an executive director and broker with GVA Advantis in Richmond.
“The deep water ports, excellent infrastructure and access to rail make the Richmond and Hampton roads regions ideal locations for industrial users,” David McGarry, LaSalle’s mid-Atlantic market director, said in a statement. “From these areas, you can reach one-third of the population within 12 hours and the largest users can find many choices for sites.”
Chicago-based Jones Lang LaSalle already has a strong mid-Atlantic footprint with offices in McLean, Washington, D.C. and Maryland, which employ 750 people, managing more than 24 million square feet.
In the past its Richmond office has focused primarily on project development services. With the addition of Polk — GVA’s all-time top producer — the firm will offer comprehensive services including agency leasing, tenant representation, industrial leasing and capital markets. “Charles is an outstanding broker with a long successful track record and the addition of him to our team will further enhance our ability to serve clients,” McGarry said in a statement.
Polk’s clients list includes Fortune 500 Capital One Financial Services Corp., Lumber Liquidators, Bostwick Laboratories and Morgan Stanley/Smith Barney. “Jones Lang LaSalle offers the preeminent platform and has a keen ability to take care of clients,” said Polk. “It is a natural fit for me to join this great team.”
