International Paper cuts production in Franklin
- November 14, 2008
International Paper plans to shut down one of its machines in Franklin this month, affecting 50 employees.
The move will cut production 17 percent at its Franklin mill. The company says it will try to find the 50 employees other jobs at the mill, but some cuts may come through retirements and layoffs.
The shutdown comes from a decline in demand for envelope paper. (The Virginian-Pilot)
