International Automotive Components furloughs workers
- May 19, 2009
International Automotive Components in Strasburg announced it has furloughed 133 workers because of the closure of General Motors and Chrysler assembly plants, according to the Northern Virginia Daily.
If IAC decides to move production of consoles for GM pickups and SUVs to a plant in Mexico, the furloughs may become permanent for 110 of the affected workers.
The plant let go about 200 workers in December because of GM and Chrysler plant closings, but about 45 of them returned to work in the winter. (Northern Virginia Daily)
