Identity theft prevention company to create 250 jobs in Altavista

Intersections Inc. plans to open a customer care center in Altavista, creating 250 jobs.
The Chantilly-based company provides identity risk management services. Its theft protection solution is branded as Identity Guard, and its customers include financial institutions and Fortune 100 companies as well as other businesses.
“We are pleased to expand our customer service department and to create more solid jobs in Virginia,” Michael Stanfield, CEO of Intersections, said in a statement. “Given its high-quality, stable work force, Altavista is a perfect location for our new center. It will allow us to continue to support our growing customer base with top-quality customer service assistance, while helping to stimulate the economy and provide jobs among a hard-working community.”
The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission approved $100,000 in Tobacco Region Opportunity Funds for the project.
