Fairfax-based ICF International has received a $11.6 million contract to create a resource center of information on chronic disease for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

ICF will create a center that provides information on policy, environmental change, training and tools to 44 communities that are funded through the CDC’s Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW) program. The center will include online training and lessons for communities.

CPPW tries to address the top preventable causes of death and disability, particularly obesity and tobacco use.
