ICF International expanding headquarters in Fairfax County
- November 9, 2010
ICF International, a global professional services firm in Fairfax County, is expanding its corporate headquarters. The company said Tuesday that it has committed to a 12-year lease at its current location on Lee Highway that will expand its space from 200,000 to 300,000 square feet of space.
ICF plans to invest $20 million to improve and reequip its headquarters office. The expansion is expected to create 400 jobs over the next three years in Virginia, with a majority of them in Fairfax County. With its global headquarters in the county since 1988, ICF already employs more than 2,500 employees in the region. It works with government and commercial clients on consulting services and technology solutions in a number of areas including energy and climate change, homeland security and defense.
Sudhakar Kesavan, chairman and CEO of ICF International, said in a statement that the company decided to stay in Fairfax for several reasons. “Its proximity to Washington, D.C., available transportation infrastructure and well-educated workforce are key determining factors in ICF’s decision to extend its office lease in the county.”
The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority worked with the state’s marketing agency, the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, to keep the company in Virginia. The state will provide up to $1 million through incentives programs, and the Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide training assistance. ICF also is eligible to receive a Major Business Facility Tax Credit.
