- October 6, 2010
McLean-based Hilton Worldwide, a lodging industry giant, announced a major new deal with Microsoft Tuesday that will use the software company’s platforms at Hilton’s 3,600 properties around the world.
Under the agreement, Hilton said it will deploy collaborative and productivity tools such as Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and Microsoft Office 2010 to employees and business partners, an enhancement over what is in place now. The company did not disclose the dollar amount of the agreement.
“These technologies remove communications barriers across our global enterprise … and provide a renewed focus on our core mission to deliver the best possible experience for our guests,” Robert Webb, Hilton Worldwide’s chief information officer said in a statement.
The agreement is part of Hilton’s Innovation Collaborative, which seeks to enhance worker productivity and allow the company to embrace corporate social media tools.
